For the Progressive East End Project (PEEP) 2021, six yarn stores have joined together to host a Mystery Knit- and Crochet-A-Long (MKAL/MCAL)! The project this year is a hat and mitts set. Each store is pre-selling kits for the MKAL/MCAL. Kits include Pipit DK Micro (75% merino, 25% nylon) mini-skeins dyed by MUSE2320 and a main color chosen by each yarn store. You get to choose which main color resonates with you – then purchase that kit from the store with that color. Kits are on sale July 22nd through July 29th – they will not be available after the 29th! Since all sales are done through preorder, we won't run out! No worries about being the first one in line, just stop in or call anytime between the 22nd and 29th! Purchase of a kit automatically registers you for the MKAL/MCAL.
As you think about participating in this year's PEEP Mystery KAL/CAL, here’s a bit of info about the projects: Jeepers Peepers, designed by Laura Rasmussen, is a gender-neutral hat and mittens (or mitts) set. The pattern is accessible enough for an inexperienced knitter yet engaging for a more advanced knitter. The stitches used are basics: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, and yarnover. You'll need US 5/3.75mm needles in 16” circular, dpns, and, if desired, 8-9”circular. We'll share more info as we get closer to cast-on day, October 7.
Our crochet pattern, Not a Peep About It, is a hat and fingerless mitts set designed by Carly Stipe. Great for an adventurous beginner or seasoned crocheter. Using fun twists on the Hdc you’ll work the hat in the round. The fingerless mitts are worked flat and seamed. You’ll need both a F/3.75mm & I/5.50mm Hook sizes, or the hook size that will get you gauge.
Knitting from the Heart Kit Price: $54
Please note that since all shops are using different yarns, cost will vary depending on which kit you choose. Payment is due when you order.
Orders will be available for pick up October 1 at the shop you ordered from, and the pattern clues will be delivered through email.
Cast on Zoom Party October 7th!
